In the 1970s, during Elvis Presley’s legendary performances at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, the King would toss scarves into the crowd, a signature moment cherished by fans. What many don’t know is that those iconic scarves were lovingly hand-sewn right here at Opportunity Village. When Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker, toured our organization, he was moved by our mission and enlisted the help of our community to craft the very scarves Elvis shared with his fans during his record-breaking performances.
Today, that legacy lives on through one-of-a-kind hand-painted silk scarves created by the talented artists at Artworks Studio.
When you purchase one of these scarves, you’re not just buying a beautiful, wearable work of art. You are helping support the lives of artists with disabilities, allowing them to thrive, grow, and continue their artistic journeys. And you’re becoming part of a story that began with Elvis and continues today—one filled with creativity, empowerment, and heart.
